Team Roping :)

Team roping is another exciting sport in rodeo.  It has to have two people and one person is the header and the other is the heeler.  What that means is the header has to rope the head and the heeler has to rope the back legs.  The header is the first person to rope the steer and the heeler is the second.  If they didn't follow the rules the team on the horses will be disqualified and unable to compete again or to win any money.
There are a lot of really good team ropers and past team ropers that made it into the hall of fame.
Tee Wollmann-2004
Asbury Schell-2004
Ben Johnson-1979
John Miller-1979
Broc Cresta was a really good heeler.  He won the Cheyenne Frontier days last year and the year before.   He also went to the NFR in Las Vegas  last year in the year before.  He had competed in the Cheyenne Frontier Days in Rapid in July, But was found dead in his trailer the day after he competed.  They don't really know the cause of death, but they think it was alcohol poisoning.  He was 25.

  1. Team roping seems like something that would be very hard to do!

  2. I did not know the ropers had different names or that if they didnt go in the right order they would be disqualified.

  3. It's really sad that guy died at such a young age.

  4. It's too bad his celebration is probably what killed him. It's interesting, though, that team aren't in the Hall of Fame together, but as individuals.
